BURGARD HIGH SCHOOL is on the RISE!

This past Saturday I stopped into the Burgard High School CTE Showcase where CTE and ELL students have dedicated their Saturdays toward their additional education, as a result of interrupted learning from the pandemic.

Assistant Principal Eric Johnson indicated that 50 students have consistently been attending either the morning or afternoon sessions. I visited the Automotive Technology, Welding Technology, and Advanced Precision Machining Technology programs.

Featured in the picture with me is our very own Student Board Member, Tameshia Walker. You’ll also see potted plant holders that students welded and will soon be for sale.

I met a young lady graduating this June who has already secured employment as a Welder at Northland Workforce Training Center.

This CTE program is being offered as one of many Summer Programs open to many more students. It will also continue with newly added Saturday Academies next year.

It was a wonderful visit and I’m incredibly impressed with our students’ dedication and talent at Burgard!
