Background on Dr. Stephen Turkovich
Stephen J. Turkovich, MD, was named Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at Oishei Children's Hospital in July 2014. Dr. Turkovich previously served as Quality and Patient Safety Officer at Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo. A resident of Buffalo, Dr. Turkovich received his Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology as well as his medical degree from the University at Buffalo (UB). He completed his pediatric residency at the University of Rochester, Golisano Children's Hospital at Strong. He currently serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics for UB.
Dr. Turkovich has won numerous awards and honors, including the Business First "Healthcare 50" designation and the UB School of Medicine's "Medical Alumni Award for Community Service and Commitment." He is a fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics and member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Turkovich was also named a 2021 Buffalo Spree Top Doctor.
